When you enter the cave, you find yourself in a small chamber. It is damp, dimly lit, and appears at first to be empty. As your eyes adjust to the light, you see something on the wall, and walk over to it.

The Werewolf's Corner

On the wall in the werewolf's corner, you see an inscription that says:

  The werewolves have gained another of their own. They are wild at heart, but never fail to help their friends. Leave the cave and return with a shell or a bone. This shall be your tool to carve your stories into the stone.

You obligingly Walk outside and spot something glinting on the ground. You pick it up. It's a sharp, pearly-white fragment, but you can't tell if it is a shell or a bone. You decide it doesn't matter and go back to join the others.
